Michael D. Yapko, PhD., is a clinical psychologist and author—as well as a recognized leader in his field—whose work focuses on treating depression, developing brief psychotherapies, and advancing the clinical applications of hypnosis. He has written over 15 books, lectures internationally, and has received numerous professional awards for his contributions to the field of hypnosis and mental health. He also produces audio programs, self-help mental health training programs, and programs for psychotherapists.

He always liked “things that work,” leading him to become a clinical psychologist rather than do “clinically impractical” psychoanalytical work; his emphasis is on making therapy more efficient. His preferred mode of treatment includes resolution.
