Ron Siegel, PsyD., is a longtime student of mindfulness meditation and is assistant clinical professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School. He is the author of eight books and numerous articles, and lectures extensively on the topics of mindfulness, chronic health conditions, mediation and psychotherapy, and wisdom and compassion in psychotherapy. He is co-director of the Harvard Medical School Conference of Mediation and Psychotherapy.

He combines psychoanalytic principles with mindfulness/Buddhist principles in his work and, despite his own mindfulness experiences as a child and adolescent in the counter-cultural movement, notes that his own therapist “said it’s amazing how few maps we are offered for psychological experiences growing up.”
