Scott Miller, PhD., is the founder of the International Center for Clinical Excellence, an international consortium of clinicians, researchers, and educators dedicated to promoting excellence in behavioral health services. Respected for his charismatic and humorous teaching style which serves as an inspiration to clinicians, he is the author of eleven books and various manuals for Feedback-Informed Treatment and is also a pioneer in the development and use of assessment tools to gauge progress and obtain feedback about psychotherapy (Outcome Rating Scale and the Session Rating Scale).

He started out as an accountant before becoming a psychotherapist. Since then his career has evolved through what he calls “deliberate practice” from clinical work to research, learning along the way that this deliberate practice gives therapists the best clinical results.
